The donations continue to trickle (perhaps a very slow drip would be a better description)
into the track fund.
We are still a few hundred Pounds short of what is required.....layouts are expensive
to build...... and, so far, just a handful of contributors have provided the bulk
of the almost 1000 GBP raised to date.
Thank you to those who have so far contributed.
The delayed publication of the March Newsletter probably means that many of the membership
are still "in the dark" about this project : Hopefully, enlightenment will bring
forth a flurry of donations.
The special, "I am Sponsoring the Exhibition Track", coffee mugs are still available
at 8.75GBP by post (email firstname.lastname@example.org ) or 6.75GBP from a
GTG (there will be supplies at Ampthill on May 7th, so please be sure to get yours
and show support for the Society).
Background planning continues and the constructional details are evolving.
As soon as the track base units are available, then tracklaying will begin (it is
hoped we may be able to afford to have them laser cut to reduce the work which would
be involved in manual production) .
Meanwhile, those items which can be progressed (in particular buildings and scenic
details) are rapidly taking shape.
Available for sale in support of the project are fogman's huts (a choice of LNWR
or GCR designs, in resin, complete and painted for outdoor use) at 15GBP and a verylimited edition GCR platelayers' cabin will soon be offered at 50GBP plus postage
(again in resin, complete and painted) but there will be only TWO offered for sale
(and one has already been reserved). For details and to reserve a model email email@example.com
If every Society member were to donate just 5GBP, we would have enough to complete
You can download a donation form here and cheques should be made payable to "The
Gauge 3 Society" and clearly marked on the reverse "Track Fund Appeal" and sent to
The Gauge 3 Society (Track Fund Appeal),
